When you work with me, you get the skills, talents, and experience of:
- A certified health counselor and lifestyle coach with a track record of success. I’ve worked with people of all ages, sizes, and backgrounds who all yearned for the same thing: peace with food, a plan for permanent weight loss, and a life that matters. I’m certified by the Institute for Integrative Nutrition & Columbia University, C.H.E.K, and I’m also a Reiki Level I practitioner.
- An Ivy League educated coach. I possess a coaching skill set from the University of Pennsylvania that has exposed me to the freshest perspectives and theories in the field.
- Someone who has walked the talk. You name it, I’ve had it: acne, allergies, asthma, cancer, emotional eating, depression, and IBS. But after too many years of way to many doctors, medicines, and pain, I’m not just disease and medication-free, I’ve made peace with my body, weight, and how I need to live my life so I feel it counts. And it feels fantastic.
Here’s what I do to solve this problem:
I walk, run, or skip (whatever pace is comfortable for you) down this open road where you’ll make peace with food and discover the pieces of healthy, spirited living missing from your life. Before you can drop those 20, 30, (insert magic number you believe will bring you unbridled happiness) pounds for good, you have to become friends with food and create a life that inspires you.
More specifically, we’ll do this by:
Introducing you to the foods that work for your individual body (read: won’t leave you hungry, irritated, and feeling crappy)
Teaching you to trust your body again (yeah, the one with the crazy cravings and bloating that makes you feel three months pregnant)
Giving you the knowledge needed to conquer fatigue, depression, and bloating
Healing your digestive tract to improve your bowel movements and moods (yep, there’s a connection!)
Exposing you to Eastern and Ayurveda food theories to help heal your relationship with food
Sharing strategies for making time for all this healthy living despite not having a trust fund
Giving you the time, space, and questions to discover the patterns that are keeping you from sabotaging your weight and health goals
Helping you develop an action plan to cultivate more meaning and joy
Examining the lifestyle changes necessary to support your weight and health goals

My Approach:
- I’m committed to lasting results not the quick thrill of losing five pounds in one week that’ll come back the following week and further sabotage your self-confidence.
- For sustainable weight loss to occur, you have to understand food, your body, and how to create an energized lifestyle that supports your health goals. We will focus on this latter piece first, the weight loss second.
- EveryBODY has the innate wisdom to know what foods and choices are needed for a full life. This knowledge, however, gets buried deep in fancy ads, bogus health information, fad diets, and societal pressure. My job is to support my clients in unlocking this intelligence. I do not give you a list do’s and don’ts. Instead, I empower you with the tools to make choices that fit with your goals.
- You cannot feel comfortable in your body without a fully functioning digestive system. You cannot enjoy food if it is causing you discomfort. I will get you on a regular bathroom schedule in no time.
- I approach being healthy as a realistic optimist. Life is messy. I’m concerned with progress, not perfection—and always lots of fun. Overachievers welcomed. Perfectionists, good luck!
- I don’t believe everyone, including me, has all the answers. My educational background reflects learning from many fields. I blend my holistic health education, Ivy League coaching skills, 21-years of being ping-ponged around the medical system, and insane curiosity to bring you the best insight and tools from the East, West and in between. The result: an enlightening, humorous, and healing time together.
- I get bored easily so I always give my clients new recipes, ideas, and exercises to keep them interested, engaged, and on their toes!
- I believe your body is doing its best with what it’s been given. There aren’t one-size-fits-all cures, pills, and procedures. I teach my clients to understand their bodies and what they need to achieve balance, not mask symptoms.
- I have an extreme energy and enthusiasm for life and my “work.” I believe each of us deserves to be ridiculously content being the entrepreneurs of our own lives. It’s not always easy, but it’s meaningful. I support my clients in this quest and challenge them when I believe they are selling themselves short.
- I’m a nurturing and supportive coach, not a tough love coach. The clients I work with need to stop the judging and berating and start understanding. If a military style approach works for you, there are great services available, but not with me.
- I am a light-hearted person but take my work very seriously. We aren’t just eating differently, we are changing your life. I work with clients who enjoy being up to something big and will take our time together seriously (that means follow-through on recommendations, and make their appointments).
- I have clients regionally and nationally. I work with my clients in person and via telephone. Both work wonderfully well.
- I consider my clients like family and beacons of hope for their communities who think they have to live with broken down bodies. I make them my highest priority and limit the amount of clients in my practice so I have the time to support each one 100 percent.
